Shoals Rodrigues has been supporting scientific research for the past 15 years.
Our research focuses on the marine biodiversity, fisheries and physical processes that influence the health and condition of the ocean around our island. We use the findings from our scientific studies in our education and outreach programs and in our advocacy work. In this way we ensure that the research we do is relevant to the general population living on Rodrigues and the protection of our marine resources and natural heritage.
Knowledge about the marine environment around Rodrigues is still in its infancy. We need to do much more work to better understand the marine ecological and social economic processes at a local, national and regional scale. If you would like to help us with our research or have an idea for a project please contact us.
